Xavier Angel
CFP®, ChFC®, CLTC®
Certified Financial Planner
After graduating from De La Salle High School in New Orleans, I earned a B.S. in Physics from Loyola University Chicago. In 1999, I accepted my first professional position as a software engineer in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where I spent two years before returning home to New Orleans. In November 2001, I began my career in financial services with MassMutual Financial Group, a decision that set the foundation for my lifelong mission to help others build and protect their wealth.
Today, as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), I take a holistic and intentional approach to financial planning, helping busy professionals ensure their financial security while exploring and achieving avenues for long-term wealth accumulation and preservation. My focus is on providing clarity and confidence so my clients can make sound financial decisions that align with their goals and values.
As a Registered Investment Advisor with Osaic, I’m able to leverage innovative technologies, strategies, and investment resources to deliver objective, client-centered guidance. This independence allows me to uphold the fiduciary standards that are at the heart of Plan Wisely Wealth Advisors’ mission.
Beyond client work, I’m passionate about financial education. Along with my co-host, Erik Garcia, CFP®, I launched the podcast Stuff About Money They Didn’t Teach You in School. Together, we explore how financial decisions shape every aspect of life and provide practical insight to help listeners become more confident money managers.
In addition to holding the CFP® designation, I’ve earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC®) designations, along with Series 6, 7, and 63 securities licenses.
A Bit More About Me
My wife, Maureen, and I are proud parents of three children—two who have already launched their professional careers and one currently in high school. When I’m not spending time with my family, I can often be found at the stables with my youngest or taking long walks with Beau, our 113-pound Goldendoodle.
Community involvement is an important part of who I am. I served as President of my neighborhood homeowner’s association for 10 years and currently serve on the Board of the Audubon Commission. I’ve also had the honor of serving as both a National Director and two-term President of the Louisiana Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP).
